Fruit Village Gvarv

Gvarv is known as the Fruit Village with over 500,000 fruit trees that produce an abundance of apples, plums and morels. With Norway's warmest climate as a backdrop, everything is in place for fruit production in a class of its own. Did you know that every fourth Norwegian apple comes from here? In the area, you'll find more than 12 companies that work with fruit full-time - from cultivation to processing. Here you can get up close to farm life and enter a real flavour universe.

Fruit and Culture Village

The Fruit Village Gvarv is located in the municipality of Midt-Telemark in Telemark, bordering Nome to the south-west, Bø to the west, Notodden to the north, Kongsberg to the east and Skien to the south-east. The municipality includes several small, cosy villages such as Akkerhaugen, Nordagutu, Hjuksebø and Hørte.

In the middle of this rich landscape, you'll find Lake Norsjø - a gem in its own right. First Camp Norsjø and the action-packed Norsjø Kabelpark, where you can try out wakeboarding and water skiing, are located along the shore.

Blooming in The Fruit Village

In May, Gvarv is transformed into a living postcard when more than half a million fruit trees are in full bloom. White and pink carpets of flowers spread across the landscape, and the scent of apple, plum and morello fills the air.
