Relaxation Room
Do you long to create memories that will last a lifetime, while enjoying a moment of tranquillity and well-being? If so, our sauna offers at Øradampen badstue and Heit Telemark are just what you need! This is a unique opportunity to retreat and recharge your batteries.
Øradampen Sauna
At the end of the pier at Ulefoss Gjestebrygge , you'll find the floating sauna Øradampen. Here, you can relax while taking in the peaceful view of the water and truly unwind. Bring along friends or family and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere together.
To use Øradampen, all you need to do is book a time slot in the calendar. Shortly before your booking begins, you'll receive a text message with a code to access the sauna, which will be preheated and ready when you arrive. The sauna accommodates up to six people. The price is 300 NOK per hour.
Children must be able to swim and be accompanied by an adult to use the sauna. It is recommended that children under 10 do not use the sauna.
If it gets too hot, take a refreshing dip in Norsjø via the ladder by the sauna. For water temperatures below 10°C, it's advised to have someone stay on land while others swim, and a rescue buoy is available outside the sauna.
The sauna can be booked in 60-minute intervals, and if you would like a longer session, it is easy to make multiple bookings.

5 Benefits of Sauna
1. Lower Stress Level
A sauna session acts as a detox for your body – the sweat helps flush out toxins and impurities, while also reducing stress and boosting your sense of well-being. It also lowers the amount of cortisol in your blood, a hormone linked to stress, and increases serotonin production, known as the "happiness hormone," according to findings in this article (in Norwegian).
2. Improved Blood Circulation
The heat from the sauna enhances blood circulation by expanding blood vessels, which can improve oxygen delivery to muscles and organs. In this article (in Norwegian), Forskning.no refers to a study of 2,315 middle-aged men in Eastern Finland. Those who used the sauna two to three times a week had a lower risk of cardiovascular diseases compared to those who used it only once a week. Using the sauna four to seven times a week further reduced the risk. One reason for this could be that sauna use lowers blood pressure and promotes relaxation, warmth, and social connection.
3. Better Sleep Quality
Regular sauna sessions can improve sleep quality for many people as blood vessels expand, improving oxygen flow to muscles and organs, which can contribute to deeper rest.
4. Stronger Immune System
The increase in body temperature during sauna sessions can stimulate the production of white blood cells, which are essential for the proper functioning of the immune system.
