The Midt-Telemark region is centrally located in Vestfold and Telemark and is easily accessible either by train, bus or car. Take the train to Nordagutu, Bø or Lunde with eight departures daily between Oslo, Kristiansand and Stavanger. The region has a good bus service from Oslo, Bergen, Skien and TORP Sandefjord airport. And it’s only two hours by either train or car from Oslo.
By car
The journey by car takes around two hours, driving west from Oslo and about three hours drive north from Kristiansand. Here is an overview of the distance from the largest cities:
By train and bus
Sørlandsbanen to Go-Ahead runs between Oslo and Stavanger (via Kristiansand) and stops in both Bø and Lunde with eight departures daily. Book your ticket at VY.no or Go-aheadNordic.no.
To Bø, Gvarv, Lunde and Ulefoss by bus
The Haukeliekspressen bus runs daily from Oslo and Bergen to Bø.

Bicycle

To Lifjell
Lifjell is your closest mountain, whether you come from Denmark or live in the central eastern part of Norway. Lifjell is just 12 km from the town of Bø in Telemark.

The Lifjell area is a mountain plateau between Seljord, Notodden and Bø. Most of the mountain cabins are centrally located around the Jønnbu area which is 700-800 masl. The high mountain terrain is like a miniature Jotunheimen with about 20 peaks above 1,100 masl.
