Bø
Bø is located in the heart of Midt-Telemark and is a vibrant rural community that combines beautiful nature with exciting activities and a rich cultural life.
Bø is perhaps best known for Bø Sommarland – one of the largest water parks in the Nordic countries – and as a student town with the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), which gives the village a youthful and lively atmosphere. In addition, Bø is an important commercial and service hub in the region, with a charming town center filled with local shops and restaurant.
🎓 The Story of Bø
As early as 1954, Bø established itself as an important educational center with the founding of its own public secondary school (landsgymnas). In 1970, the village further strengthened its role in education when the Telemark Regional College was located here. This institution laid the foundation for what later became the University College of Telemark, and today forms part of the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), Bø campus.
For decades, Bø has been a place for learning and development, and it continues to play a key role in the region's academic landscape.
