Universal Design

We are part of the project "Inclusive travel life in Telemark", and want everyone to have a good time regardless of their functional ability.

We at Bø and Lifjell Turridning are proud to support the sunflower scheme and participate in the project "Inclusive travel life in Telemark" to gain more knowledge about accommodation for disabled people.

Not all disabilities are visible — some are hidden. The sunflower is a discreet way of showing those around you that you have an unseen disability and may need extra assistance, help or just a little extra time. The sunflower scheme is for both adults and children.

"Nobody can do everything for everybody, but everybody can do something for somebody" is the slogan of the project and describes the aim of the project pretty well.

We do not have the possibility to offer a universally designed accessible riding, but at Bø and Lifjell Turridning we have acquired special saddles for people with balance difficulties, special vests and reins. We are also happy to assist you in getting onto the horse if necessary, but it is important that we are informed in advance. We have also planned a mobile staircase mounting block to assist mounting and dismounting.

Sunflower

The sunflower symbol makes you visible, so you get the help you need when you need it. During June 2021 the sunflower lanyard can be obtained from us.  The sunflower scheme is also part of the "Inclusive tourism in Telemark" project.
